Overview
Selah Focus ("Extension") is a Chrome extension that helps users focus through time management with Scripture integration. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
📊 Data We Collect
User Settings
The Extension stores the following user preferences locally on your device:
- Focus session duration (minutes)
- Break duration (short and long)
- Number of cycles before long break
- Auto-start preference
- Scripture display settings
- Bible translation preference
- Theme preference
Storage Method: Settings are stored using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local,
which keeps your data on your device. Active timer state is also stored locally so the timer
continues accurately when the popup is closed. For non-Chrome environments, settings fall back
to your browser's localStorage.
Session Data
- Current timer state (paused/running/idle)
- Current cycle count
- No data about your browsing activity or personal information is collected
🚫 Data We Don't Collect
We do not collect:
- Your browsing history
- Websites you visit
- Personal information (name, email, location, etc.)
- IP addresses
- Cookies or tracking data
- Any data sent to external servers
💡 How We Use Your Data
Your settings are used solely to:
- Maintain your timer preferences across sessions
- Sync your settings across your Chrome profiles (if using Chrome sync)
- Display Scripture verses and reflections you've configured
🔐 Data Storage & Security
- All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome Storage APIs
- Data is encrypted when synced through Chrome's sync service (if enabled)
- We do not have access to your data; it remains under your control
- You can delete all extension data at any time by uninstalling the extension
☁️ Chrome Sync
If you choose to sync your Chrome profile, your Selah Focus settings will sync across all your devices where you're signed into Chrome. This is a Chrome-provided service. For information about how Google handles synced data, see Google's Privacy Policy.
✋ Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your settings by opening the Extension's settings panel
- Delete your settings by clearing extension data or uninstalling the extension
- Disable sync by unchecking "Sync your settings across devices" in Chrome settings
